Ninjai The Little Ninja is a collective animated series begun in 2001. The folks from Ninjai recruit animators all over the world to help them complete this large project. In this episode, Ninjai, whom everyone thought was dead returns and confesses to his sidekick pet bird, the secrets of his survival. It’s also the final showdown with Ninjai’s arch enemy. Who will win?
Although the story is built on past Ninjai Webisodes, it is not necessary to view what happened before to enjoy this series. It’s a strange series in that, the pet bird and its interaction with Ninjai clearly sets this series as something suitable for kids, whereas the action scenes are definitely not PG 13. Much of the interaction with Ninjai arch enemy and his henchmen is predictable.
The animation for this project is some of the best anywhere. There’s a good mix of full-frame animation and more classic Flash techniques. The strong points of this project are the backgrounds and the ambiances. It shows that there’s been much preparation before the animation has even begun. The lip sync is not the best though. The mouths barely match the words.
