Animator Anand Nunnaly Duncan has created this short animation about Detective Ace Malone, who's got a strange interest in ferrets. In the story, he meets with an unnamed client and discusses a new murder case that the latter would like him to investigate. The story is set in California and the exchanges between Malone and his client suggests that Malone is a weird detective.

The story is meant to be a parody of the detective's genre but it's so brief that it doesn't achieve anything. There's a good premise with the ferret jokes - another stand in for badgers and hamsters. However, Nunnaly doesn't runaway with it. The climax of the story also falls flat as there are no hints that Nunnaly will ever produce a second episode. It was just a brief animation test.

Bruce Timms' Batman Animated series and related cartoons have heavily influenced the design of the characters. The only difference is that Nunnaly doesn't use contour lines. The animation is minimal and mostly lip sync. Nunnaly has not always synchronized the lip sync with the sounds though. The voice acting and the introductory jingle let one suppose that a cool new series is about to begin, but again, it goes nowhere.
