I set out to look for a Flash cartoon for Valentine's Day, and unfortunately, this is what I found. Valentine's Day is another Flash cartoon short by David Firth and I'm not sure I want to see more, but, it seems like it's one of the milder cartoons he's produce. The story is simple. A woman gives a Valentine card to a man. The man flattered decides to follow the woman home.

This cartoon is shocking and not intended for children or people with limited tolerance for violence. The way it happens is unexpected. Once it happens, there's no more point to the story. A lot of Flash cartoons earn a reputation by playing tricks similar to Itchy and Scratchy. This one takes it further and add a British twist to it. It's narrated by the man who stalks his lover.

The animation is good. Firth does good walk cycles. There is great care throughout the project. The editing is right and the timing is good. However, the horrific part of the cartoon and the graphic details exposed will annoy and gross out many. Technically, Firth is a good Flash animator, however, what he chooses to put within his sordid cartoons is another story. Be warned.
