Maritess vs The Superfriends answers an age-old question of 1970s generation X kids. Who the hell cleaned up and took care of the Superfriends' Hall of Justice? As the creator of the cartoon say, the Hall was always cleaned. Moreover, all Superfriends had their own quarter. Maritess is a Filipino foreign worker hired by the Superfriends, and she tells viewers about her plight and abuse.

This cartoon is quite funny, although it's full of inside jokes that only Philippines' natives will understand. Maritess tells about her alleged abuse and discrimination received from the Superfriends. She also shares some insights about immigration laws and how Filipino workers have to struggle against the system and isolation. The best jokes occur when Maritess talks about individual Superfriends.

The graphic design is not the best and the animation is quite modest. Maritess looks more like a guy than a woman, but it doesn't matter much. The cartoon works very well. The creators favour using blocks of colours without contour lines for both backgrounds and animated levels. It's quite colourful. The best part is the monologue, taped in front of a live audience. More cartoons should have that.
