Shopping For Danger is a spoof on G.I.Joe and similar adventure cartoon series where each member has a distinct personality and his own slang and speech pattern. The Cheat Commandos, the cartoon's heroes face Blue Laser and his goons, who are trying to get a deal from an every day low price store. Will the Cheat Commandos stop the evil Blue laser from getting a deal?
The story is quick and drives the punches clearly. There's no mistaking what's going on. Most of the characters are given strong personalities and conflict. The little nerd, who was left out of the mission is trying to prove himslelf worthy of the Cheat Commandos. The heroes' leaders is constantly overreacting and imagining the worst plots. Blue Laser is annoying and screeching.
The animation style in Shopping For Danger is minimalist. It's not intended to be innovative, although a few good tricks were used, such as the red light effect and the grappling hook's animation. All of the backgrounds are bitmaps with some grain effect. The soundtrack is effective and really helps the project move along. It's very similar to music from 1980s' games.
