Today, I watched a few Justice League cartoons on DVD. The quality of the show's writing always gets to me. The producers really did not intend this show to be for kids, or if they did, they remembered that kids like stuff that is a thought provoking as the stuff adults gets.
The episodes I watched were the one in the season two, were Secret Society and Hereafter episodes.
It struck me that the studio animating the Secret Society episode was different from the usual gang. I didn't check the credits, but it's easy to tell that it was contracted out by a different team. The animation was wilder and moved more than usual. Some of the stuff made the characters look goofier, and the characters' designs, sure looked a bit off model sometimes. But I didn't mind!
I'm used to the more plaid animation on Justice League and anything that is different is easy to notice. At least the studio working over these episodes had more fun than some of those working on other ones from that season. There are times where it seems that the animation was really cheap looking. I remember some poorly animated sequences, but I'm not sure if they were from the Eclipso episode. Will have to watch again.
